About the Steelshad
If I could have only one lure in my tackle box, it would be the Steelshad. I was
introduced to the Steelshad by its creator, Blake Gills, in the Spring of 2007. We
fished together for a day and caught six different species of fish on the
Steelshad in 3 to 4 hours. Since then I can't count the number of fish I have
caught on the Steelshad, even when others aren't having much success. I have
become a true believer in this lure. You can fish shallow or deep, and it casts a
long distance which allows the lure to have more time in the water. Its
swimming movement attracts attention and provokes strikes.
The Steelshad is equally as effective in both freshwater and saltwater. I have
caught more fish on the Steelshad than any other single lure.
How to fish with a Steelshad
Fish it steady like a crank bait, fish it like a jerk bait, bend the tail slightly to the
right and it will swim like a wounded minnow to the right, or bend it to the left
and it will swim to the left. A slow retrieve fishes deeper, a faster retrieve fishes
shallower. The versatility of this lure makes it effective in many environmental
conditions.
