The fishAmatic Automatic Hook Setter catches fish on an unmanned pole. It Automatically sets the hook as the fish bites, with the hook rarely swallowed.
Place a small amount of bait on your hook and cast out the line. Place the pole in a holder, dock post or anything so that the rod is near vertical. Reel in the slack line and place the loop end of the fishAmatic cord around the reel handle.

A 1" or larger bobber* can be placed on the cord to adjust tension and prevent the fishAmatic from sinking if it falls into the water. *Bobber not included with fishAmatic
Grasping the rod tip, the rod is bent downward to insert the end of the hook setter into the rod tip eye.
The line is fed through one of the three loops in the hook setter, depending on the fishing conditions.
The top loop is used for normal conditions and trips the easiest The middle loop is used to prevent false tripping by strong current, heavy winds. or while trolling slowly. The lowest loop is used for trolling with large or high draft lures or with live bait which may trip the more sensitive positions.

The bobber is used to adjust the cord tension. The cord should be approximately 2/3 the length of the pole.
The fishAmatic is now ready to catch a fish.
When a fish bites, the line tension rotates the hook setter releasing the rod tip, instantly causing the rod to snap back at the same time that the fish is pulling on the hook.
The hook is usually caught in the fish's mouth or jaw rather than deep in the fish's stomach or gills, so the fish is saved. The fishAmatic is a "catch & release" fisherman's friend.
